Inle Lake evening

This evening we enjoy a traditional Burmese dance show, including two dancers who are half human half birds (and adorable).

Debb got pulled up on stage and was quite excited about it, as you can see.

Afterwards it really got interesting. They made hot air balloons out of really thin kitchen garbage bags, lit some kindling on fire ...

... and sent them floating off. Only a few made it. Many more crashed (literally), burned (literally) and were stamped out furiously. Oh my. Only in Myanmar.

As if that wasn't enough, then then got out this really huge balloon

and sent it off ...

dragging a platform full of fireworks!

After the inevitable explosions it returned to earth, but we don't know where.

In the morning, we're off to Bagan, our last stop in Myanmar.
